Caroline Weidman has been an artist for over 20 years. She studied Fine Art at Birmingham Polytechnic, graduating in 1983. She has worked in a range of mediums including paper, stone and glass. Sculpture has been a passion throughout and she exhibited complex structures in paper during the 1980's. 1n 1995 Caroline began stone carving. She creates traditional figurative carvings in limestone and is a member of the Shoebury stonecarvers group. She uses the principles of sculpture in her work with glass which brings in the dimension of colour. Caroline undertakes a broad range of work, including restoration and design of traditional stained glass to more contemporary kiln fired designs. The Glass From The Past Studio also accommodates numerous of her students who produce high quality items under her coaching.
Caroline's studio is housed within the newly restored Stable block at Hylands House, a stunning Grade 2 listed building situated near Chelmsford in Essex
